Marvelous Mango

This splendid exotic fruit has had a few members of our family craving, from a recent visit to India. I thought I'd mix it up a little this weekend and add it to a vanilla cake recipe I am revising. We've been devouring them all weekend! Breakfast, lunch and supper! :)

Frosted in mango butter creme. Yummy :)

Vintage feel

I picked up these gorgeous pansies at a local nursery just off Ponsonby road, Wednesday for a strawberries and cream cake I made. The beautiful ruffles remind me of this green angora knit scarf my Mum made me when little. She had threaded a purple ribbon through it. When you pulled it at both corners it would create a ruffle edge. It was so warm in the winter months.

This 6 inch cake was baked a beautiful ginger buttermilk. Smothered over in vanilla bean butter cream Dressed in pearly white fondant, fondant utensils and ginger buttermilk crumbs... hmmmm

Its the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse! Come inside, its fun inside!

This cake was baked as a special order. Eggless and dairy free. The fondant too! Quite a challenge but worth the outcome! Oh so much fun to make! My daughter and I had a great time singing along to Mickey's Clubhouse. Made for a special little boy who turned the Big 2 yesterday! As I saw my daughter's sullen expression appear before me, I knew this one was going to be sad to part with. Looks like a Clubhouse cake for my one this year. I was told,  "The cake was so good, dint even taste vege n yus! Krishan loved it! He saw it n wntd to pull mickey off straight away bt I dint let him!"
So, thank you Pri for giving me this fun challenge!
Happy baking everyone!
